LIVE MUSIC • Blake Jones 7:30p -9:30p
July 13 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm
Blake Jones grew up in a family of eight in Harrison, Ohio. His father, a traveling preacher, was very influential in teaching Blake and his siblings about using music to serve others. The Jones Family band travelled the country in the 70’s and provided bluegrass gospel music for his dad’s tent revivals. Blake graduated from Berea College in 1992, where he won the coveted Red Foley Music Award. His time at Berea exposed him to Appalachian music, and he branched out to pay tribute to artists such as James Taylor, Nanci Griffith and Jean Ritchie. Blake is a multi-instrumentalist, playing the acoustic guitar, mandolin, banjo and mountain dulcimer.
