LIVE MUSIC • Josiah Whitley 7:30pm – 9:30pm
February 14, 2020 @ 7:30 pm – 9:30 pm
Take an old soul and let him possess a 25 year old’s body, and then have him pick up a guitar and sing you songs about his journey through life, and you have Josiah Whitley. Whitley is a singer-songwriter based out of Southern Ohio. A unique and rounded blend of rock, folk, blues and country, he cut his teeth on the music of his cousin, the late Keith Whitley. His reputation as a guitarist became notable at home; at one time being a part of not only the family’s bluegrass band, but a hard rock group, a country group, and was the lead guitarist in the church’s praise and worship band alongside Skillet’s Seth Morrison, a friend a school mate, all at the same time. After graduating college Whitley traveled to Nashville to pursue music, landing a job as a session musician. His stay was brief but he didn’t leave empty handed, leaving with the credits to Carman’s No Plan B under his arm, an album which topped at #3 on Billboard. Leaving the constraints of the Nashville music industry behind he decided to get back to the root of his love for music; one guy, one guitar, and one good song. Since his inception as a solo singer-songwriter Whitley has released 2 projects, Sounds Before The Slumber EP, and In The Dark, both of which are on Pandora, Spotify, iTunes and Google Play. He has also shared the stage with the likes of Earl Thomas Conley, Joe Diffie, Josh Thomposn, Paul Colman of the Newsboys, Seth Morrison of Skillet, hit Nashville songwriter Rick Ferrell, renowned musician Andy Carlson, and many more.
